Go Green in Your Los Angeles Apartments

Does it interest you to keep the earth’s resources sustainable for as long as possible? If so, consider going green in your apartments in Los Angeles. It’s a great way for you to feel as though you are making a difference when it comes to taking care of the earth. After all, we want to make it a safe, bountiful place for future generations to come. For some tips on how to make your Los Angeles apartments more eco-friendly, follow some of the tips below:

1. Always separate recyclables and trash. This should come as a no-brainer, but it really does make a difference in the big picture, even if it feels a tad inconvenient.
2. Learn how to grow your own fruits, veggies, and seasoning. This is a great way to be self-sustainable without relying on gasoline to take you to the market every time you want or need a little something to spice up what you’re eating. Plus, if you have your little pots in a corner of your apartments, you may inspire your guests to begin doing the same.
3. Be conscientious about how much waste you leave behind. If there are any ways for you to cut down on napkins, plastic utensils, and plastic plates, that would be ideal. The greater the amount of waste you leave behind, the bigger impact you leave on the already polluted world. Try using regular dishes and utensils, even during parties or get-togethers, to do your part and save the environment.
4. Be wary of how much electricity you use. This is especially true if you’re home for long hours of the day or you work from home. Sometimes you may be using a ton of lights when you can just open your curtains and use natural daylight. Think of how much you’d be saving on your utilities by doing this too!

And the best thing is that you can pretty much enjoy the variety that Los Angeles has to offer by simply driving fifteen minutes (or less) from your apartments.

Here are some things you can do this spring in Los Angeles to truly make the most out of your city:
1. Hang out at Echo Park Lake. Be sure to walk around the circumference of the lake at least once (which is a mile) and then check out the nearby shops on Sunset Boulevard.
2. Go to Amoeba in Hollywood! Although there are rumors that this iconic record store may be closing soon, it may be a good idea to go in and see what’s still there.
3. Check out one of LA’s many museums. The Museum of Broken Relationships on Hollywood Boulevard may of particular interest if you or a close friend of yours recently went through a break up.
4. Drive down to Long Beach’s Aquarium of the Pacific. This is a wonderful way to have a fun, family-friendly day without spending too much money while giving your kids a great education on the sea life around them.
5. Grab a drink at Dublin’s in Downtown LA. This is a wonderful Irish pub that is sure to help you enjoy life a bit and get your mind off work or whatever it is that’s troubling you.
6. Check out Shatto Lanes in Koreatown. This iconic bowling alley has been here for decades and also has arcade games and pool tables to guarantee you have a blast with your friends.
7. Go shopping on Melrose Avenue. There are many vintage gift shops here that have surprisingly good deals despite bordering West Hollywood.
